Multiple Pathways School Counselors have a number of resources to assist students in preparing for a future career.   Along with a discussion regarding career goals, Counselors regularly offer the following to students:

  • Futures Interest Survey
  • Career/Apprenticeship Tours
  • Virtual Job Shadow Access

Students are encouraged to visit with their Pathways School Counselor about future career aspirations.

School Counselors have a wide variety of information about different military branches.  If a student is considering joining the military, they should first visit with their parent/guardian about the commitment.  If the student wishes to learn more, visit with a School Counselor for additional information and military recruiter visits.

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple choice test, administered by the United States Military Entrance Processing Command, used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United States Armed Forces.  Juniors and Seniors are eligible to take the ASVAB.  Interested students should study for the exam at the following website.


Job Corps is a program administered by the United States Department of Labor that offers free-of-charge education and vocational training to young men and women ages 16 to 24.  The Job Corps location closest to the Omaha area is located in Denison, Iowa.  Training offered at the Denison campus includes:
